FAQs
-
What tools are recommended for installing ArcticAnchor clamps? We recommend using a torque driver or standard drill with an 8mm hex driver bit. Avoid using hammer drills, as they may overtighten or damage the nylon patch and POM tips, potentially reducing holding strength and compromising warranty coverage.
-
What torque should I use when installing the screws?Torque settings can vary depending on roof type and material thickness. For most standing seam metal roofs, we recommend a setting of 60-75in/lbs. Always refer to our official installation guide, or cut sheets for specifics.
-
Will ArcticAnchor work with my roof profile?ArcticAnchor clamps are designed to fit most standard standing seam metal roof profiles. If you're unsure about compatibility, contact us with your panel model or a photo and we’ll help confirm the fit. For more specific information on compatibility, please download the cut sheet for the specific clamp.
-
Can ArcticAnchor be used for fall protection or as a safety tie-off?No. While our system is engineered for high snow load retention, it is not certified for fall protection use and should not be used in place of safety-rated anchors.
-
What material are the ArcticAnchor systems made from? All ArcticAnchor products are made using TitanCore™, an advanced polymer engineered for extreme rooftop environments. It’s UV-stabilized, color-matchable, and corrosion-resistant, making it a high-performance alternative to steel and aluminum.
-
Do your screws damage roof panels? No. Each screw is tipped with a POM nylon head that flanges on installation, creating a secure grip without metal-on-metal contact. This prevents paint damage, chipping, and corrosion commonly seen with steel screws. *Note: Damage may occur if the screws are torqued beyond our defined installation limits.
-
What makes your system faster to install?ArcticAnchor is a simplified four-part system: clamp, rail, joiner, and end cap. Clamps arrive with pre-threaded screws that include nylon patches, eliminating the need for separate thread-lockers. Friction-fit joiners and end caps also reduce the number of tools and steps required.
-
How does your system compare to traditional metal snow guards?TitanCore is about 7x lighter than steel and does not rust, dent, or crack under stress. The system installs faster, is easier to transport, and can be fully color-matched without expensive anodizing or coating processes.
-
How do I calculate how much product I need for my roof?Use our online Project Estimator tool to get an instant breakdown of required components based on your roof size, slope, and snow load. It’s fast, free, and accessible from any device.
-
How do I determine my snow load?Snow load is based on factors like geographic location, roof slope, and project type. We recommend consulting your local building code or using our estimator tool for general guidance. For complex or commercial projects, contact us directly.
-
What’s the recommended spacing for clamps and rails? Our general recommendation is to space clamps every 24 inches, but spacing can vary based on pitch, snow load, and project type. For precise results, use the ArcticAnchor Load Calculator or consult your engineer.
-
What does your warranty cover?ArcticAnchor products are backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty that covers manufacturing defects, color fade, and structural failure under normal conditions. Full warranty terms are available on our website.
-
Who tests your products? We partner with respected third-party testing agencies including SGS, ASTM, and GQD. These labs certify our product performance in categories like load capacity, material strength, and temperature resistance.
-
Do you test your products in extreme temperatures?Yes. ArcticAnchor components are tested to perform in environments as cold as -40°C (-40°F), ensuring reliable performance in the harshest winter conditions.
-
What happens if a part fails? If a covered product fails due to a manufacturing defect, we will provide a replacement and contribute up to $3.00 per unit or linear foot in labor costs. See our full warranty policy for details and eligibility.
-
How do I order ArcticAnchor products? You can order directly through our website or request a quote through our Project Estimator. For commercial or bulk orders, contact us to speak with a team member.
-
Do you offer custom colors?Yes. Our TitanCore material can be fully color-matched to most roof colors without the need for painting or powder coating. Custom colors may require minimum quantities . Contact us for details.
-
Is there a minimum order size?No minimums for standard retail kits. Our bulk pricing begins at 500 linear feet and scales with project size.
-
Do you offer contractor or distributor pricing?Yes. Tiered pricing is available and automatically reflected in the Project Estimator. For larger orders or long-term purchasing agreements, contact us directly.
